Surely there can’t be anything more exciting than making a home or room your own? Stripping a room bare, painting the walls white, starting all over again, then spending hours hunting for little (or large) pieces of decor that make a space entirely your own.
This is one of the many “before” shots I took of my bedroom before we stripped the walls and painted the whole room/ceiling white. My last bedroom I had a feature wall, which meant choosing accessories and re-arranging furniture was a pain, so in this house I’ve decided to go completely bare with the walls with bold bedding from Anthropologie and most likely bold accessories too. That way, changing bedding, colours, and decorative items doesn’t get complicated, it simply means changing the sheets (as opposed to completely stripping the walls each time I decide I have a new favourite colour….wink!)
I can’t lie, Im not exactly a pro when it comes to painting, even though I do have a love of art, within the space of 30 minutes, I covered myself, the walls and the floor with Dulux Brilliant White paint.
The walls, ceiling (and my old clothes, that are now in the garbage) are complete, and we are heading into Eastboure at the end of the week to pick up some fairy lights and some voil for the windows. There is something so delicate and pretty about plain voil curtains, and of course, teaming them with my (all year round) fairy lights seem to be the perfect relax-fest solution.
