“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs…
Ask yourself what makes you alive
Because what the world needs
are people who have come alive”
On my 21st birthday I postponed my name day celebration until the summer because I had always wanted to celebrate during the warmer weather (think fire roasted marshmellows, beach parties, tents, campfires and barbecues), there is not much fun in being born in January (Thanks mum). Since the weather was crap, and since life is short, we decided to celebrate my birthday again on Wednesday at the fabulous Vegetarian Cafe in Brighton – Wai Kika Moo Kau.
Filled with spices, fruits and in-season veggies on display, the cafe permeates with aroma.
I ordered sweet potato and orange soup, toast with soy spread, and an extra side salad.
….such beautiful presentation!
Momma had poached egg on toast on a bed of spinach. Mmmm.
Obviously a trip out to Brighton wouldn’t have been complete without making memories in the vintage photo booth before going home.
Coming home, drinking coffee, undressing into my PJ’s, and crashing in front of the laptop to upload the pictures from the day, I opened the lid of my MAC to find a little silver card placed inside (from my mum, of course). Inside was this. Sometimes there are no words…
“Really and truly believe in yourself”
Some things I will treasure forever. (some things you never forget), and some things move you (forwards). It made a good day, great.
